Screw tumblr I’m on Instagram baby!

January 16, 2014

Right so before I started back blogging I got an iPhone and like countless other “sheeple” the urge to document every mundane aspect of my life overcame me.

All this to say I’m on Instagram and have been for ages now and have become quite the poster!

Apology to Commenters

January 16, 2014

I real shame!

Let’s start this over shall we?

I NEED to apologize to everyone (except the spammers) who commented ages ago and whose comments I only recently approved and responded to. I neglected to install WordPress on my iPhone and life got in the way of me posting long before that happened.

Thank you for your comments and I look forward to engaging you more in 2014 as I build my business, my brand and reach out to you more than ever!

Warmest Regards for 2014 & Beyond,
Superlative1

First post of 2014 with Video

January 7, 2014

So I’ve finally installed WordPress on my iPhone, over a year after having it. That means I’ll be more likely to post pics, videos and stories. I just hope I don’t post my “personal photos” accidentally! 😜

Check out the video here!

The purpose of this revised blog is to be more open with readers about what makes me tick, how things in the world work and to help everyone better understand what’s going on in the world around them in a way they can appreciate.

I’ll also be uploading to YouTube so check out my channel – guess what it’s called.

Watch this space to find out more of what’s happening in the life of the Superlative1.

Like Being Robbed at Gunpoit

June 14, 2010

So I am here checking out new and inventive ways to turn the overpriced stuff I have and don’t necessarily use into some fast cash.

I investigated nearby pawn shops to offload a watch or two, but I never followed through on that because well… just because. At any rate, I had really been finding it difficult to part with my possessions since I spent so much time and effort (and money) acquiring each of those items and I hold them all so dear. Not QUITE materialistic, let’s call it sentimental. Given the difficulty, I decided to hold off hawking my belongings since I had nothing I was willing to part with.

Fast forward to me sitting down watching clips from the Isle of Wight Festival and seeing an ad with an overly made up blonde girl standing up in front of a ticket station using her cell phone, then attempting to use her phone to pay for the ticket. Here booms the announcer’s voice informing all of us wondering what’s going on that only Envirofone.com gives you money to recycle your old cell phone. Being ever so curious I decided to check it out, since I had another phone with me that I really don’t use and I’d simply transfer the contacts to my SIM card and readily part with it for the right amount of cheddar.

Imagine my surprise when I found the sister phone to my model which I paid roughly £123.00 for, they had the GALL to value it at £9.02 (the 2 pence really was the slap in the face)! Well I said to myself, this does not even include wear and tear or anything, just the flat fee! It was like being robbed at gunpoint! I was tempted to fall to my knees, toss my possessions on the floor and plead for my life! Then I decided to be cheeky and see what they would give me for the BlackBerry Curve 8520- £52.05 I’m like “Now they’re really having a laugh!”

I refuse to even hyperlink them in this post because they’re criminals! There are several other sites that purchase the same second hand phones for sometimes £30 more than Envirofone does and up! Think about that, just hit the internet and do a proper search. Don’t let their hefty advertising budget fool you, each new customer pays for an old ad.

Rubbish!

After the Hiatus

May 9, 2010

First of all let me say Happy Mother’s Day to all you givers of life out there. Hope the way you treat your children is reflected in the treatment you receive today. Be that a testament to or an indictment against your parenting skills is all on you.

Anyway it’s been one full year since I’ve posted and so many things have happened personally and internationally. I’m now a firm believer in Blackberry Mobile Devices (aka phones), I’ve left the public service and now working for myself because clearly this isn’t my main stay of income… what else… um… I’ve made new friends, excommunicated persons who I used to call friends, and general anarchy and chaos prevailed. I purchased two watches since the last time I posted:

This sexy Guess watch above for Summer

and this equally sexy Encore Oz watch by Marc Ecko for Winter.

All in all, it’s the same old thing:
Men are dogs
Women are bitches
Money gets spent
And it’s all for the riches.

Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter for more timely updates, at RoHareVodka (just click the name) or check the Twitter sidebar I reactivated today with the new twitter name, same account, different name.

Thank you all for sticking with me during my down-time and there’s more to come, just wait and see.

Announcing the Death of Cell Phone Number 11

April 29, 2009

This is to notify friends, readers, family and all other persons of interest as to the death of Mobile “Gossip Girl Phone” Superlative, on Monday, 27th April, 2009. The 11th in the line of cellular devices which have served me over the years, GGP (HTC Wizard Cingular 8125) will be greatly missed by all whose lives it touched with its full QWERTY keyboard and Touch Screen interface.

Left to mourn is a charger, USB Cable, Installation CD, unsecured WiFi connections throughout Barbados and a contact list which I can no longer retrieve.

Please be advised accordingly.

Yours Respectfully,
Superlative1.

Nokia E75 Review on GSM Arena

April 27, 2009

Well, their review is a lot nicer and more informative than mine would ever have been since I still think the phone is ugly so I shall let you read their review or click here to access their site

Nokia E75 review: Business on the slide

GSMArena team, 16 April 2009.

If we can think of one reason to take being told “to mind your own business” with a smile it would be the Nokia Eseries. A household name for enterprise users, it’s hardly a surprise that each E-series update is greeted with plenty of excitement. The Nokia E75 is no exception, even if it doesn’t really put anything new on the table.

The side-sliding QWERTY form factor lands on Symbian turf following a reasonably successful spell on the WinMo side of the yard.

The major novelty of the Nokia E75 is the form factor and we’re about to see if this is enough for it to carve a niche out for itself in a crowded market.

There’s no denying that if a side-sliding QWERTY is good enough for a teenage-targeted music phone (the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic), it must be more than at home in a full-featured business phone. Welcome to the Nokia E75.

Key features

  • 2.4″ 16M-color TFT display of QVGA resolution
  • Four-row side-slide QWERTY keyboard
  • Quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G (with HSDPA) support
  • Symbian OS with S60 3.2 UI
  • 369 MHz ARM11 CPU
  • 3.5mm standard audio jack
  • microSD card slot, 4GB microSD card prebundled
  • 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera with a dedicated shutter key, geotagging and VGA@30fps video recording
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g with UPnP technology
  • Built-in GPS receiver and Nokia Maps with 3 months of free voice-assisted navigation
  • USB and stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) connectivity
  • Steel battery cover
  • FM radio with RDS
  • Remote Wipe functionality
  • Carrier-independent VoIP support
  • Office document editor
  • User-friendly Mode Switch for toggling two homescreen setups
  • Smart dialing

Main disadvantages:

  • Rather expensive at this point (more than 350 euro)
  • Controls around the D-pad are too tiny
  • Mediocre camera performance
  • Fingerprint-prone cheap-looking front
  • Wiggling cheapo camera key
  • Limited battery life (in comparison to the E71)

Even if we leave aside the scores of competing business handsets, the Nokia E75 still faces quite stiff competition from within the E-series range itself. It’s unreasonably close to the E90 as far as pricing is concerned and is quite uncomfortably cloning most of Nokia E71 functionality. The side-sliding QWERTY keyboard and FP2 are pretty much all the E75 has over the E71.

It’s more like an alternative we’re talking here rather than a substantial upgrade. Truth be told, we were pretty impressed with the Nokia E71 and if the E75 matches its performance then there will be no reason to grumble.

So, if the Nokia E75 is sitting on a fence, then so are we until we’ve taken it down for a test ride and seen what it can do. Let the unboxing begin after the jump.
