Rihanna – Circuit City

August 4, 2008

So in an attempt to make sure Rihanna never wants for anything in life, it seems every company is pitching in to make sure she gets all the work and ad spots. Latest is her video disturbia being used for Circuit City’s massive Back-to-School campaign. Check it out below.

Take A Bow Parody

July 20, 2008

I Don’t Know How by Superlative1
(Take A Bow by Rihanna Parody)

Why don’t you take off her draws,
Forget the libation.

You look so drunk right now,
pissing next to my house,
can’t mistake those bloodshot eyes,
drink that gin that i despise,
please, just shut ya mouth,

And don’t tell me you’re sober cuz you’re not,
baby when I know you could breathe fire, breath’s so hot

But you put on quite a show,
dancing on the table,
now it’s time to go,
you can’t drive you’re not able,
that was quite a show,
falling down the gable,
you’re not sober now,
Only served coke I don’t know how…

Grab your flask and get gone,
you better hurry up,
before my parents come home,
talking bout you’re okay and you feel fine,
nigga then walk this straight line,
please, you can’t stand up…

And don’t tell me you’re sober cuz you’re not
baby when I know you could breathe fire, breath so hot

But you put on quite a show,
dancing on the table,
now it’s time to go,
you can’t drive you’re not able,
that was quite a show,
falling down the gable,
you’re not sober now,
Only served coke I don’t know how…

Whoa and the award for the worst drunk goes to you,
For making your peepee,
On my tv
You S.O.B,
You’re so pissy now…

Why don’t you take off her draws,
Forget the libation.

But you put on quite a show,
dancing on the table,
now it’s time to go,
you can’t drive you’re not able,
that was quite a show,
falling down the gable,
you’re not sober now,
Only served coke I don’t know how…

Katy Perry Still at Number 1

July 17, 2008

Holding off Rihanna for a second week in a row, Katy Perry’s soon to be classic hit I Kissed A Girl sits comfortably atop the Billboard Hot 100 for 4 straight weeks.

Congratulations to Katy Perry. We at Superlative1 hope you have at least another week at number one. Congrats also go out to Rihanna for going back up to number 2 after falling to number 4. Staying power ladies, you both rock!

Rihanna- Disturbia

June 2, 2008

So Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded album is well on its way with yet another single. This new track Disturbia is an up-tempo club banger, however I don’t think it’s at the top of her game, but it’s cool enough. The electronic voice synth (a la T-Pain) gets to be too much after a while. Check out the song below.

It might grow on me, you never kniow.

Maroon 5 and Rihanna

May 22, 2008

Beyoncé who?

It appears as though music royalty Rihanna really IS embracing the pop/rock side of the music business. Check out the video for Maroon 5’s If I Never See Your Face Again featuring Rihanna.

The video is hot and Rihanna really gives the song some zest!

Rihanna’s #1

May 18, 2008

Can this Bajan Beauty do no wrong?

Record breaking, Grammy Award Winning, Chart topping Rihanna has somehow managed to soar 52 spots from 53 to capture the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with her hit single Take A Bow from her upcoming Good Girl Gone Bad re-release. Take A Bow also sits at number one on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs as well as Hot Digital Tracks! Congratulations RIhanna!

Rihanna- Take A Bow Official Video

April 26, 2008

So finally we have the highly anticipated video for the latest single from the Good Girl Gone Bad re-released album. *Crosses fingers that Say It is not on the repack*

She looks simply stunning in this video, real grown woman type. Rumour has it Breaking Dishes is the next single to be released. Good show, would love Sell Me Candy to get out there at some point but you never know with these things.

Superlative 1 vs Rihanna and Shontelle

April 13, 2008

So Rihanna must now think I’m a freak because I was talking to Shontelle online and she told me she was kicking it in LA with Robyn (Rihanna) Fenty and she had Rihanna’s dog on her lap; the dog I referred to as a teddy bear and the reason behind me questioning Rihanna’s sanity for strolling around with a stuffed animal before I realized it actually moves on its own. Anyway little did I know when I was telling Shontelle all sorts of things she was actually passing on the messages to Rihanna. Messages included:

I’m a Good Boy Gone Bad!

She can Sell Me Candy anytime!

I loved the album but “Say It” SUCKED!

I’m her number 2,496 fan!

Sign my left teat! (Particularly shining moment on my part)

and I also went on to ask Shontelle why Rihanna and I are not friends and asked her to sneak me Rihanna’s personal email address, assuring her I wouldn’t spill on who I got it from. THEN I asked where Rihanna was during all of this, only to hear ‘Right in front of me” I could have died! Not really… but it wasn’t THE best way to start the ball off rolling. Sigh… I can say goodbye to future interviews.

Thank you for the A Girl Like Me autographed poster Rihanna! I LOVE YOU! Although I could do with another one to add to my collection *clears throat* Hey! How about autographing a blank cheque! That works for me!

In More Rihanna News

March 21, 2008

According to Yahoo! Music News, which would stand to benefit from using or hiring a spell checker before posting articles, OneRepublic lead Ryan Tedder, has marked Rihanna as the next Britney Spears. Insult or compliment?

Rihanna Still in Top 5 and Top 50

March 20, 2008

Who says she doesn’t have staying power!

good-girl-gone-bad.jpg

Still managing to hold strong on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 5 (after peaking at number3) in the most highly competitive top 10 of recent years with her dance hit Don’t Stop the Music. Apparently her album Good Girl Gone Bad is still holding steady in the top 50 also, coming in at number 31 in the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums, the 5th oldest album on the chart!

Way to go RiRi!

The Bachelor Comes to Barbados

March 17, 2008

The Barbados Tourism Authority must be salivating right now.

the_bachelor_logo.jpg

the-bachelor.jpg

The Season Finale of the new season of the ABC reality hit series, the Bachelor, which begins tonight has already been shot and wrapped up and I have learned from a reliable source (an insider on the set) that the finale was shot in Rihanna‘s home country of Barbados. Everyone who made it that far had a wonderful time on the island and the decision has been made!

However, I won’t go into how it ended because that just wouldn’t be fair now would it.;)

Take A Bow by Rihanna

March 15, 2008

Okay my question is how much time DOES she spend in the studio.

rihannaallurecover.jpg

The young Barbadian songstress and cover queen has put out another tune on her label Def Jam’s AV page for all you Rihanna addicts out there. The new song Take A Bow is unusually low tempo for a new release given her debut singles track record which sees club bangers as leading the charge. However, it’s a catchy song and she shows off her vocal improvement.

Click here to check out Take A Bow.

And the Winner Is

February 11, 2008

Ah, Rihanna won a Grammy! After being nominated as an artist in 4 categories (her songs were nominated 6 times) She managed to win music’s most coveted prize at the 50th airing of the show.
